Eagles defensive starter takes issue with yet another uninformed Cowboys theory

C.J. Gardner-Johnson has had about enough of those Eagles and Cowboys comparisons.

If this has happened before, we can't remember when it was, so we'll just say it hasn't happened in a while. We can't remember the last time a Philadelphia Eagles star tested every emotion as often as C.J. Gardner-Johnson has.

We were pumped when Howie Roseman executed the trade to land him in August 2022. We fell in love with him because of how he played the game. Then, he ticked us off because he bashed the organization and its fans when he exited to join the Detroit Lions.

It didn't stop there. C.J.'s representatives accused the Eagles of making a 'fake offer'. He spent a year in Detroit. He returned to Philly this past offseason. He apologized and asked to wear Kobe Bryant's number, and just like that, all was right with our love affair again.

C.J. G.J. is alright with us, but there's a reason why this guy has been labeled as the game's most annoying player by so many of his peers. He's one of those guys you love when he's on your team, He's the guy you can't stand to watch when he isn't. Birds fans love him because, in many ways, he acts like we want to.

He doesn't bite his tongue either. FS1's Emmanuel Acho has learned that the hard way.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson takes issue with Emmanuel Acho's recent Eagles and Cowboys comparison.

Here's as honest as we can be. Often when Dak Prescott or Jerry Jones talks, we ignore them. When are they ever quiet? We have yet to find a microphone that Jerry Jones doesn't have a fondness for or want to step in front of.

Occasionally, however, they'll reference Philly and we'll lend an ear. Such was the case when Dak recently stated that the Dallas Cowboys, as currently, constructed, can compete with the Eagles. At the time, we found his theory so off-base that we felt there was no reason to respond.

Enter Emmanuel Acho and our guy C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

During a recent airing of FS1's highly-popular morning show The Facility, Acho stated he believed the Cowboys are "one Eagles offseason away from a Super Bowl of their own. C.J. seemingly has had enough of the comparisons.

We side with C.J. on this one. The gap between Philly and Dallas is sizeable. The Eagles have the better roster, coaching staff, owner, and general manager. Keep in mind the fact that the Cowboys have entrusted their rebuild to the head-coaching prowess of Brian Schottenheimer.

We try to listen to The Facility as often as possible. That's our way of supporting LeSean McCoy, an Eagles Hall of Famer who is also one of the hosts. And, yeah... Acho played for the Birds once upon a time.

But, the latter struck out on this one for so many reasons. Here's a message to Cowboys nation. Jerry Jones will NEVER hire a coach who takes the attention off of himself. As long as he's the general manager, your team will always underachieve.
