The Philadelphia Eagles have finally made a decision with the offensive line, as Drew Kendall will start in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans, but not at left guard.
Landon Dickerson was placed on IR this past week, as he deals with a knee injury he played through in the 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 1. That left a gap at left guard to be replaced, with many thinking it was either Drew Kendall, Willie Lampkin, or Fred Johnson taking over it.
NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe reported that it will be Cam Jurgens at left guard and Kendall takes over at center. It was a scenario that was talked about throughout the week, bu the Eagles actually decided to go for it.

It's a big moment for the Eagles and an early-season decision that could either be a really smart move or a bad one. Philly had been playing with the idea of putting Jurgens at guard since he is more experienced. Kendall had been serving as the backup center and also has experience at the position.
This could be a defining decision for Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni early in the season to see how it works. It will help that Jurgens can go up against Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons more often than Kendall. The Eagles will most likely have both guys double team Simmons so that he doesn't beat them.
One thing to watch is whether this will change the play calling from offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. This could force him to call quicker passes and more zone runs. With Kendall about to make his second career NFL start, the idea is to take as much pressure off of him as possible. Mannion could also do more under center plays so that the exchange between Kendall and Jalen Hurts are smooth.
Many Eagles fans knew Kendall was going to be in the lineup, but being at center is an interesting choice. It might actually be the safest and smartest choice to help the young second-year player.

Philly fans will have to see if this works out for them against the TItans. The hope is that this could be the lineup for the next four games until Dickerson potentially returns.
