Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman might have done some bad damage to the Green Bay Packers after the Dontayvion Wicks trade in the offseason.
The Eagles acquired Wicks from the Packers, with Philly sending over a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick. At first, it looked like a low-risk trade for the Eagles, who wanted to add a receiver familiar with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion's scheme, since they'd been together with the Packers.
Green Bay originally didn't think they needed Wicks since they had Christian Watson and Matthew Golden. That turned out to be a horrible idea for the Packers and a perfect trade for the Eagles.

Wicks is off to a great start to the 2026 season with the Eagles, posting over 70 yards in each of his first two games, the only receiver on the team to do so. In that span, he has seven receptions for 147 yards and one touchdown.
Green Bay has exclusively leaned on Golden and Watson to do everything in the passing game. Together, they have 32 receptions for 537 yards and five touchdowns. Watson and Golden contribute to 63.6% of Jordan Love's passing yards have caught all but one of his touchdown passes.
The problem is that the Packers don't have a third receiver they can lean on. Tight end Tucker Kraft is third on the team in yards with 106. The next wide receiver with the most yards behind Watson and Golden is Skyy Moore with 37.
Wicks has given the Eagles incredible depth at wide receiver, becoming the WR2 behind DeVonta Smith. Philly also has Makai Lemon, Darius Cooper, Hollywood Brown, and Elijah Moore at wide receiver. They are so deep at receiver that Moore, a career WR3, has been inactive the first two weeks of the year.
While the Packers have a massive running game and an offensive line problem, they also lack reliable targets in the passing game. Imagine what Wicks could do for Love and the Packers that no one else on the roster can.
This is a trade where the Eagles, no matter what happens, have 100% won, and the Packers are left with an egg on their face. They let a good wide receiver go who could have helped their offense, and now they have more than one headache to deal with.

Philly is sitting back and looking pretty with what they got from Wicks, having found their A.J. Brown replacement and paid so little to get him. Green Bay will live to regret that move.
