It may not have been too much of a surprise for the Philadelphia Eagles to take down the Las Vegas Raiders 31-0 in the team's first shutout of the season, but the way they did it was incredible to see.
The Eagles' defense was about as good a performance as any Eagles fan has seen in a long time. They allowed only seven first downs; the Raiders were 3-of-12 on third down, and former Eagles quarterback and Raiders starter Kenny Pickett threw an interception to linebacker Zack Baun.
There was one stat, though, that forced the Raiders to accomplish something they have not done in 64 years. Las Vegas had just 75 total yards of offense, which is the lowest for the Raiders since 1961.
Eagles' defense made Raiders look bad in the worst way
It was a master class of a defensive performance, thanks to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio putting together the best of his tenure as the Eagles' DC. The Eagles showed that, from the secondary to the defensive line, they dominated the Raiders in every way.
Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean had a standout performance as he led the team in tackles with eight tackles and two tackles for loss. From his ability to rush the quarterback on blitzes to even dropping back into coverage, Dean has been able to do everything for this Eagles team and looks great since coming off of IR.
The other stunning performance came from one of the greatest ever to wear an Eagles uniform: Brandon Graham. In the game, Graham had two tackles, two quarterback hits, two sacks, and one tackle for loss. It was a vintage performance for one of the best in Philly history.
Even some love has to be given to the "Bald Eagle" himself, Baun. He had four tackles, one pass deflection, and one interception.

This was a fun game for the Eagles' defense, which made life miserable for the Raiders and pitched a much-needed shutout. Can the momentum of this defense keep rolling for the Birds moving forward?
