One of the biggest and most discussed storylines of the Philadelphia Eagles season has involved something we didn't think we'd be discussing. What has happened to Jake Elliott? After the first big miss, we dismissed it. He'll be fine. That's what we told ourselves, but the misses didn't stop. They just kept coming.
Jake hasn't missed a kick during the postseason. He helped launch an Eagles Super Bowl run. He made the monster that put Philly up on the scoreboard by eight points in football's biggest game.
Unfortunately, the NFL is like that Janet Jackson song. 'What have you done for me lately?' Lately, 'Jake The Make' hasn't been automatic.

An Eagles fan takes a Jake Elliott troll job to the next level.
If you knew nothing about football or had no knowledge of the game's history, no one would be able to convince you that Jake was widely regarded as one of the game's best at his position.
A 2021 Pro Bowl nod, Jake was named as a Second-Team All-Pro last season. He was named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week after Weeks 1, 4, and Week 12.
We don't know who this guy is we've been seeing though. In Week 14 vs. the Carolina Panthers, he missed an extra-point attempt but was bailed out because the Panthers committed a penalty. He also missed a 52-yard field goal attempt. He is now 0-5 from beyond 50 yards this season.
Jill Zimmer's handle on TikTok is @jillianzimmer, and she recently took trolling to elite levels.
We were this close to sending the poor lady some flowers. Then, it hit us. Wait a second! The ball didn't travel into the seats, right?
We enter Exhibit A into evidence.
Nope! The ball never made it past the first row, so here's the point. It would have been impossible for Jake's kick to hit poor Jillian in the face.
We know some of you are uptight and will bash this type if posting. We've never figured out why some of you are so angry, but hey, that's life. Social media is supposed to be fun. We tip our caps for the creativity.
In seriousness, however, we're concerned that an Eagle who once was a weapon has become a liability. Philly is going to need their kicker down the stretch and during the postseason, and we are hugely concerned about his confidence or lack there of.
Does someone have Jason Peters' number? Where's 'The Bodyguard' when you need him?
