Welp, let the waterworks start again for Philadelphia Eagles legend Brandon Graham.
As part of an event by Jefferson Health, Graham announced to the crowd that he is going to officially retire from football. He shared a short statement on stage about his decision.
“I’m officially done. Y’all hearing it from me first. But let me tell you this, they are in great hands. Jordan Davis, I’m telling you, he is a guy who is going to get the defense going. On offense, I can’t wait for Jalen [Hurts] to prove them haters wrong as always, and get us back to the promised land. I’ma still be around, still around, still giving wisdom, helping the guys. Because, of course, it’s an adjustment for me, but it’s a great adjustment, because it’s all about my kids and my family, trying to make sure I’m there for that. Just spreading the love everywhere.”
Brandon Graham is retiring from the NFL and Eagles a second time
The Eagles selected Graham in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was originally thought of as a bust in his first two seasons, but ended up having a 17-year career, all in Philly. In 215 games, he racked up 495 tackles, 156 quarterback hits, 125 tackles for loss, and 79.5 sacks.
Graham made the Pro Bowl once in his NFL career, as he made it in 2020. He was also a second-team All-Pro selection in 2016.
Last season, Graham was retired until he came back to help the franchise after going through some injuries on the defensive line. He finished the year with three sacks. The Eagles released him back in the summer due to his contract being up.
It was recently announced that Graham was launching the second season of his Unblocked podcast. He is also joining the PHLY crew all season for coverage of every Eagles game.
Graham has become a staple of Philadelphia and one of the most popular players in the city's sports history. He will be in the Eagles Ring of Honor someday, but his Hall of Fame status is up in the air at the moment.
Regardless, he was the guy everyone in Philly loved watching, as he worked through tough times to win two Super Bowls with the team. That's a feat that not many people can say they have done.

Philly will always have Graham in their hearts as one of the best to wear the midnight green uniform. The good news is that no matter what, he will still be around the city and the Eagles for a long time on and off the field.
