What a day it was for the Philadelphia Eagles' running back, Saquon Barkley, in their Week 8 game against the New York Giants, until bad news came for Barkley.
On the first run of the game, Barkley took it 65 yards for a touchdown on the Eagles' opening drive to give them an early 7-0 lead. He also had a touchdown catch in the second quarter to regain the lead at 14-7.
It was an overall great game for Barkley as he finished with 14 carries for 150 yards, and 24 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the win. Unfortunately for Barkley, he was not able to finish the game as the starting running back.
Barkley gets hurt in the game
On Barkley's 14th carry, he was running down the field and ran out of bounds when he started to pull up and was limping. He went into the medical tent afterwards and would end up not coming back into the game with a groin injury.
Tank Bigsby finished the game as the main running back. Bigsby played well with 104 rushing yards on nine carries.
During the broadcast, it was announced that Barkley was listed as questionable and the Eagles would only put him back in the game if the team needed him. Barkley was seen on the sidelines smiling so it may not be as serious.
It's still good for the Eagles to have the bye week and give Barkley the rest he needs to recover and get back at it after the bye. Barkley proved that he needs to touch the ball more often as he was electric for the Eagles.
