The Philadelphia Eagles are in an interesting spot with many of their pending 2027 free agents looking to make a splash early in the season.
Philly is coming off a 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4 and sits at 2-2. This team is filled with injuries and issues all over the place.
They're hoping some of their new signings or guys in their final years can help them through this tough time. Here's a quick check-in on how everyone is doing so far, and who will be free agents next offseason.
Checking in on future 2027 Philadelphia Eagles free agents through 4 weeks
Riq Woolen might have increased role with Quinyon Mitchell hurt
Woolen saw his role change after Mitchell went down with his knee injury in the Rams game. When he was playing, Woolen struggled as the CB1 with Puka Nacua having his way with him, including a 28-yard completion where Woolen got Mossed by Nacua.
Pro Football Focus only has Woolen at a 60.5 overall grade and has allowed a passer rating of 95.8. It's been an inconsistent season for him so far, but the potential is there for him. If Mitchell misses time, Woolen will have a much bigger role on this team.
Michael Carter II came through on big Week 4 performance
Carter stepped up with Marcus Epps hurt and played well. He got multiple pass deflections against the Rams and proved that he might need to start at safety full-time. Watch for the Eagles to give him a real shot at doing that in Week 5 and beyond.
Dallas Goedert, Tank Bigsby headline multiple injuries
Injuries have plagued this Eagles team, and many of the upcoming free agents have fallen victim to them. Goedert has missed the last two games, while Bigsby is about to head to the IR with a new knee injury.
Other pending free agents like Hollywood Brown, Marcus Epps, Fred Johnson, and Grant Calcaterra have also been hurt throughout the season. Not a good time for these guys to be hurt.
Johnny Mundt has not lived up to expectations as TE2
Mundt signed a one-year contract, hoping he could help with pass protection and get the running game going. That hasn't happened, as he's been inconsistent in his blocking, leaving much to be desired.
Tyler Steen bringing stability to disastrous Eagles offensive line
With everything that has gone wrong with the Eagles' offensive line, with Cam Jurgens struggling and now hurt after Landon Dickerson's IR trip, Steen is getting no love for his play this season. Steen has allowed four pressures in 146 pass-blocking-only snaps, and Pro Football Focus has him graded 72.8, ranking him 17th out of 74 eligible guards.

Steen deserves respect for what he's done with the Eagles' offensive line this season, especially after taking a lot of heat last year. With all the chaos surrounding him, he may be the team's most reliable lineman.
