After suffering a fourth straight loss, the Philadelphia Eagles are in an interesting spot with multiple players whose contracts expire after the 2026 season.

The Eagles are close to being in full evaluation mode, with the trade deadline less than a month away. They are coming off a 25-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 that highlighted several players who had to step up.

Among the 2027 free agents, a few stood out for good or bad reasons. Here are a few of them and how they did for the Eagles.

Tanner McKee slowing helping himself to a good contract in free agency

McKee made his first start of the season, and he did a decent job filling in for Jalen Hurts despite a depleted backfield and offensive line. He completed 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown. He also had one rush for zero yards.

During the game, McKee made some nice throws, including a 19-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith, but he faced a lot of pressure and struggled to move the offense downfield. It wasn't a bad game for McKee, but the hope is that he can improve from here. If he keeps improving, his value in free agency next offseason could keep climbing into bridge QB territory.

Arnold Ebiketie steps up with Nolan Smith Jr. hurt

The Eagles were already rattled by injuries at edge rusher going into the Panthers game, with Jalyx Hunt and A.J. Epenesa hurt and out. Then Smith got injured, and Arnold Ebiketie suddenly had to step up and take more snaps. Ebiketie led the Eagles in tackles with nine while adding one pressure.

No, it wasn't a perfect game from Ebiketie, as Eagles fans would love to see him make more of an impact in the pass rush. He played well, made multiple tackles, and showed that he needs to stay in the rotation this season.

Dallas Goedert continues to be steady and consistent for Eagles

Goedert is as reliable as they get on this Eagles roster, and he is going to be a very important piece of the roster with McKee at quarterback. During the Panthers game, Goedert caught six passes for 61 yards, including an 18-yard completion in the loss.

There's chatter about Goedert as a trade candidate since he is in the final year of his contract. He is playing well enough to be valuable, but the Eagles might need him to stay and help their young quarterback. In the offseason, though, Goedert should earn good money as a starter elsewhere if the Eagles don't bring him back.

Johnny Mundt has become a complete bust for Eagles in 2026

Many have to wonder what the point of signing Mundt was and what he actually does here. He's been a below-average blocker this season and has had minimal impact in the passing game.

The hope was that, since he had known Sean Mannion for a long time, he would be a good fit and solve the tight end blocking issues the Eagles had with Grant Calcaterra last year. That hasn't even come close to what happened, and Mundt is becoming a waste of money for the team.
