Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward already got beat up pretty badly in their Week 1 loss to the New York Jets, but it won't get better with the Philadelphia Eagles in town.
Philly's defense put up a solid performance in the 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 1. The storyline was the Eagles' defense holding up despite allowing the Commanders to have the ball for over 33 minutes. The Eagles' offense deserves the blame for that, but Philly held strong on defense and made the big two-point conversion stop to win the game.
On paper, the Eagles' defense should have a much easier time against a Titans offense led by Ward, which struggled mightily. It should be more of the same on Sunday for the Eagles because their front seven is so good.
Eagles up front should dominate Cam Ward and the Titans in Week 2
During the Titans' loss, they allowed 26 pressures and three sacks on Ward. Ward struggled to find a rhythm, finishing 19-of-32 for 140 yards and one touchdown. Tennessee's offense totaled only 195 yards.
That should be music to Eagles defensive coordinator's Vic Fangio's ears. It only means that the Eagles upfront should have a monster game against a poor Titans offense.
The Eagles did well against the Commanders in pressuring Jayden Daniels, producing 17 pressures and one sack. Jalyx Hunt led the way for the Eagles with seven pressures in the victory.
Questions may come up early about whether Jonathan Greenard will make his season debut after missing last week with a pectoral injury. Even without Greenard, Hunt and Nolan Smith Jr. can still put pressure on the quarterback.
How so? Well, according to Next Gen Stats, the Eagles had the highest team pressure rate on non-blitzes (4 or fewer pass rushers) in Week 1, at 44.4%.

The Eagles have the talent on the edges, but need it in the middle of the defensive line to get it done. Jalen Carter's status for the game is up in the air due to his injury, but even without him, Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo can do the job.
Fangio would prefer not to blitz the Titans since Ward is more of a mobile quarterback. Having Zack Baun with a QB Spy on Ward would help the defense perform better and let the defensive line do their jobs.

This is not an ideal game for Ward to play in, and it could be disastrous for the Titans. As for the Eagles, this matchup works in their favor and they could make life miserable for Tennessee's, offense all day long.
