After a 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears on Black Friday, the Philadelphia Eagles are at an odd stage of the season where calls for change are being made.

Every Eagles fan, in Lincoln Financial Field and out, was calling for offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo to lose his job. Patullo's offense only had 317 yards and two turnovers in the loss to the Bears. His predictable play-calling came under fire, with many fans fed up with the offense's weekly struggles.

Sirianni has made it clear that no change was coming at the play-caller for the offense, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a change made with the franchise that might have long-term effects.

Eagles lose key member to front office

On3 reporter Pete Nakos reported that Eagles executive David Caldwell is leaving Philly to take the general manager job with the Florida Gators. Caldwell will be joining the school after they have hired Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall to the same position.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has had Caldwell on his staff since 2021. Caldwell has been the senior personnel director and advisor to the Eagles' general manager since 2022.

Before coming to Philly, he was the general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2013 through 2020. Caldwell was the general manager of the Jaguars, who were one win away from playing the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

The Eagles saw an influx of front-office executives leave the franchise during the offseason, so more organizations wanting them is not a surprise. Roseman has built a template for building a winning program, so everyone wants to see the blueprint for how the Eagles have done it.

Caldwell will not be the last guy; other schools and teams will go after him to help them out. The Eagles should take it as a badge of honor.
