Eagles hope Adoree' Jackson can duplicate the success of former Giants teammates

Philly found success by adding former Giants castoffs James Bradberry and Saquon Barkley. Might Adoree Jackson find similar success by venturing down I-95?

You would have thought Joe Schoen and the New York Giants would have learned by now. Maybe they should stop letting this talent find its way to the Philadelphia Eagles. Lately, they seem intent on supplanting the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide as Philly's 'junior varsity'.

The Birds haven't raided Big Blue's cupboard lately as often as they've plucked talent from the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide. They have, however, struck gold with a pair of recent signings, James Bradberry and Saquon Barkley.

What are the chances that lightning could strike three times in the same place. Frankly we're planning on it. Philly adds one more to the nest, and he need only travel down I-95 to link with his new teammates.

Eagles officially announce the signing of cornerback Adoree' Jackson

Adoree' Jackson and James Bradberry worked together as part of the 2021 Giants defensive starting lineup. Former GM David Gettleman retired and was replaced by Joe Schoen. The G-Men released Bradberry on May 9, 2022 after they were unable to find a trade partner.

Philly added James nine days later. He earned Second-Team All-Pro honors in his first Eagles season. His run here didn't end as well as it started on the field, but as things turned, he took on more of a leadership role, mentoring everyone from Kelee Ringo and Isaiah Rodgers to Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.

Saquon Barkley's story is well-known. He was allowed to walk by New York. He joined Philly and turned in one of the best seasons by a free-agent acquisition in NFL history.

Jackson and Barkley were teammates in New York from 2021-23. They are again teammates as Philly has acquired Adoree' by way of free agency. Ian Rapoport recently announced he has been signed.

This time, Jackson is asked to replace Bradberry (and Darius Slay). He brings veteran leadership, 90 career starts (including eight during the postseason), and four career interceptions. One of those picks was a pick-six vs. Philly.

He should add some immediate punch and compete for a starting role. If Philly wins with this one, it might get Joe Schoen his walking papers.
