The New York Giants have seemingly become a way-station for Philadelphia Eagles free agent signings. One year after the whole Saquon Barkley incident, the Eagles have replaced veteran cornerback Darius Slay with a former Giants DB who could be in for a revitalization under Vic Fangio.
The Eagles knowthey're going to have an elite secondary for a very young time thanks to the presence of Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, but that didn't stop Howie Roseman from being on the lookout for veterans who can provide some extra ballast.
The Eagles have reportedly signed cornerback Adoree' Jackson away from the Giants. Jackson, who will start his ninth season in the league after splitting the first octet equally between the Giants and Tennessee Titans, gives the Eagles another veteran with solid athletic ability and versatility they can lean on.

Even though Jackson saw his playing time diminish in the last two seasons to make room for first-round pick Deonte Banks, his Pro Football Focus grade of 69.0 (which ranks 58th among 223 qualified cornerbackbacks in the league) suggests that he was still an effective player in a limited role.
Jackson is not going to turn into Brian Dawkins and suddenly become one of the great Eagles defensive backs of all time, but there is potential there for him to earn a good chunk of defensive snaps while competing for the role of No. 2 outside corner alongside Mitchell with DeJean in the slot. Like Barkley, Jackson may just be in need of some fresh air.
Going from a team that was so bad they almost earned the No. 1 overall pick to a Super Bowl champion with a very legitimate shot at winning a second one in 2025-26 could be the structure and stability Jackson needs to milk one more high-end season as a starter out of himself. Alongside Mitchell and DeJean, it's easy to look good as a DB.
