We know theories can vary whenever topics like this are mentioned. Still, if we were ever to construct a Mount Rushmore of Philadelphia Eagles, Brian Dawkins would have to be among the four legends.
Sure, his only championship win came as an executive. He was Philly's Football Operations Executive to assist with player development during the 2016 and 2017 NFL seasons.
Some say he's the most beloved Bird of all time. Some place Jason Kelce slightly ahead of him, but Brian Dawkins was our first superhero.
Weapon X... Wolverine... B-Dawk... Whatever you call him, he's an Eagle through and through. He's also a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee.
Years after his final game, he still does all he can to uplift and honor others. Recently, he announced he'd embark on another venture of charity.
Brian Dawkins' Single Parent Families program continues to change lives by offering scholarships.
No one has ever questioned Dawkins' ability or passion. He's 51 years old now and still looks like he can play a few snaps if needed. Deeper studies introduce a deep thinker who is a man of faith and conviction.
Heart can be defined several ways: as an organ, a measure of someone's drive, the innermost part of something, or something we love deeply. The Wolverine had heart and is at the center of ours. His new initiative, Dawkins’ Single Parent Families grants, is only a reminder of such.

Dawk created the Impact Foundation in 2019 and the Single Parent Families program in 2022. He intended to help youths develop the physical and mental fortitude to see past the pain of any tough moment.
One of the ways he has done so is by annually awarding grants to single parents. Spearheaded by his Impact Foundation, so far, $160,000 has been provided as scholarship money for 175 youths from single-parent homes. Their ages range from 5 to 18.
Branon Gilmore is the vice president of the Caring People Alliance, a nonprofit operating three city Boys and Girls Clubs. They manage the administration of the Single Parent Families program.
He recently stated the following. Thank Inquirer Sports for the quote: “When the word got out on social media, it went viral.” Gilmore also states, per Inquirer Sports, the initial applicant pool of 50 or 60 people per cycle has grown to almost 500 applicants during last fall's most recent scholarship giveaway.
This isn't the first time Brian Dawkins flexed his philanthropic muscle, nor will it be the last. He earned the Byron 'Whizzer' White Award in 2009, one given annually to an NFL player who demonstrated commitment to community service and his team.
Yeah, it will take quite the effort to convince us he doesn't belong on our Eagles Mount Rushmore.
