The Philadelphia Eagles are off to a stellar 6-2 start and have mostly received some nice performances from their players, but there might be one that warrants discussion due to some concerns.
Eagles kicker Jake Elliott faced some heavy criticism last year after hitting just 77.8% of his field goals on the season, the lowest since 2020. In particular, he made just one of his seven field goals from 50 yards or longer, which was a significant concern.
Luckily for Elliott, he stepped up in the postseason as he made 10 of his 11 field goals, but missed three extra points. This was something that was becoming a problem for the Eagles if he didn't perform well in the 2025 season.
Elliott's 2025 season isn't bad, but still leaves some flaws to his game
Looking at the overall season for Elliott, it hasn't been terrible for him. The Eagles haven't called upon him often, but he has made seven of his nine field goals. His shining stat for the year is that he has made all 25 of his extra points.
Following his strong start to the year, concern has been raised about his performance over the last two games. Elliott has gone one of three in his fields combined against the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants.
In the Vikings game, Elliott missed an easy 42-yard field goal indoors. He can get a pass for missing a 58-yard field goal against the Giants the following week in the first quarter, but he had easily made two 58-yarders within the first two weeks of the season, though.

Is this a massive problem now? Maybe not, but this one can't be ignored, as the Eagles are going to need Elliott at some point late in the season, and the question is going to be asked as to whether they can trust him to come up big in clutch moments.
