The best player for the 2025 Philadelphia Eagles to this point isn't particularly close, and the turn of events was once seen as a dream scenario for the Eagles.
The topic of Jordan Davis was starting to become something of a lightning rod issue among Philadelphia Eagles fans. Some felt that the 13th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft wasn't living up to expectations production-wise, whereas some felt that, as a nose guard, he was doing the quiet dirty work just fine. The topic of his weight and conditioning also added fuel to this fiery debate. Suffice to say, the Eagles community is all on the happy side of the fence now.
Davis came into the season slimmed down and in apparent better shape. The crazy thing is, he's still a gargantuan 6-foot-6 and 336 pounds, so the fact that this size is more lean muscle should have been a sign of things to come.
Few thought Jordan Davis would play like the Eagles best player
Given the uncertainty surrounding Davis, his increased playing time with Milton Williams's departure was always going to be under a microscope. With Jalen Carter being on and off the field for most of the season, the importance of Davis, and Moro Ojomo, for that matter, was enhanced. Davis has answered the call with great aplomb.
Jordan Davis has legitimately been the best player for the #Eagles this year

His scoop and score (on his own blocked field goal) to defeat the Los Angeles Rams will go down as the signature play for Davis' 2025 season. His destructive nature at the defensive tackle position is his calling card.
If Carter has been compared to Jerome Brown, Davis has looked like Jerome Brown in an Iron Man suit in 2025. His quickness off the snap mixed with the brute strength that comes from his gigantic frame has made him next to unstoppable at the line of scrimmage. His 4.5 sacks to this point are already a career high, as are his nine tackles for loss, by a country mile.
When Davis blows up plays, it looks like a biker gang running roughshod over a church picnic. His destructive nature jumps out of the screen. With the up-and-down nature of the 2025 Eagles, especially on offense, Davis has been the most consistent player on an elite defensive unit. A unit, mind you, that's had its fair share of injuries.

Adding all this together, it's pretty clear that Jordan Davis has been the best player on the 2025 Philadelphia Eagles to this point and has also deserved serious All-Pro consideration. He hasn't just been the best on the team; he's been one of, if not the best, in the sport at his position.
