Eagles news: Proof of Philly's defensive dominance, Zack Baun's morning spotlight
They say 'there's a way to win', that wins and losses aren't created equally. We were reminded of that while watching another Tuesday night unveiling of the College Football Playoff Top 25 Rankings. That kickstarted a discussion, one that eventually led us back to our favorite topic, the Philadelphia Eagles.
There's a difference between losing on a play here and there and being blown out. There are differences in barely scraping by inferior opponents and blowing out contenders. Strangely, as fate would have it, the Birds have experienced every scenario.
So, for weeks, we have asked ourselves 'How good is this Eagles team truly'? We think we've been given our answer over these past weeks.
Kellen Moore have had the time necessary to learn player tendencies and what they do well. We're now seeing the results of such. This is a good Eagles team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. We have the statistical data to back such a bold claim.

More Eagles news: Zack Baun joins the Good Morning Football breakfast table.
One reason the Eagles have been so dominant defensively is they've found a diamond in the rough, one Zack Baun. He joined NFL Network's popular Good Morning Football show as a guest on Wednesday morning. When playfully asked about whether or not he can win the NFL's MVP Trophy and later, when he was asked what Philly's goals are this season, he answered as you would expect.
"Take it one day at a time. Don't look ahead".
Watch the full interview below in its entirety.
Philadelphia agreed to terms on a one-year deal to acquire Baun on March 13th. We thought they might benefit from another New Orleans Saints oversight as was the case with the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade. They seemingly have done exactly that. The Baun acquisition seems to be working out well for them.
He has started all ten games and has notched 102 tackles, two sacks, three pass breakups, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and two additional hits on the opposing QB.
Come on Howie Roseman. Let's not repeat the mistake of letting T.J. Edwards out of the door. This guy deserves an extension. We'd like to see him in Philly for a while.
