There are hundreds of ways one can celebrate their success. They can throw a party, plan a vacation, or bask in their glory. A trend is growing in the Philadelphia Eagles' locker room.
Two Birds determined that the best way to keep a winning streak going is to channel winning into other income-generating opportunities. Birds running back Saquon Barkley filed a trademark after joining the NFL's 2,000-yard club. 2K SA and 2KSA are the property of 'Saquads' now. Something tells us some fly gear is coming.
Not to be outdone, one of Philly's phenomenal rookies has closed the book on a great first NFL season. He too filed a trademark, and here we are asking ourselves a question.
Why on Earth didn't we think of this first?
Eagles news: Quinyon Mitchell trademarks QUINYONAMO BAY.
Quinyon Mitchell, in his first season, earned a 73.1 overall grade from Pro Football Focus. That includes a coverage grade of 74.0.
The latter mark ranks 31st among 223 NFL cornerbacks. That isn't bad for someone who is still learning how to play the game at the professional level.
Q didn't allow a TD pass until Week 16. That came vs. the great Terry McLaurin. He only allowed two on the season and 40 total receptions.
611 coverage snaps were played in total (that's 17th among corners). He broke up nine passes. That ranks 11th. He was consistent weekly. How did he celebrate a great rookie season? He, like Saquon, decided to file a trademark.
The phrase 'Quinyonamo Bay' began floating around social media, and yeah we wish we would have trademarked that. But, then again, we probably wouldn't have parlayed that into as much cash as Q can.
So, rather than 'player-hate', we congratulate! How's that for old school? Q's maturity continues to impress us.
Harold Carmichael boards the train for Eric Allen's deserved Pro Football Hall of Fame induction.
As this is being written, the Eagles are set to host the Green Bay Packers. A legend, Eric Allen, will serve as honorary captain. He was recently named a finalist again for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's been snubbed more times than we care to remember, but we hope he finally gets his due.
E.A. is one of our favorites. So is Harold Carmichael. The latter is already enshrined and recently showed his respect and love for a friend on X.
Brotherly love is in the air, and we side with Mr. Carmichael. Eric Allen has waited long enough. It's time to carve his bust. He deserves that!
