The Philadelphia Eagles are recharged and refocused after their disastrous 27-7 Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Philly is trying to move on after allowing nearly 400 yards on defense and looking awful on offense, with zero second-half points and three turnovers. It's already been a rough week for the Eagles, getting their names dragged through the mud for how bad they looked on national television.

Since then, the Eagles have been focused on preparing for a short week as they face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4. Here's a quick look at the top Eagles news after a long few days.

  1. Eagles' first injury report for Week 4
  2. Kenny Moore's promotion with Eagles almost didn't happen
  3. Vic Fangio talks defensive failures in Eagles loss to Bears
  4. Eagles signed familiar face to practice squad

Eagles' first injury report for Week 4

This week's first injury report for Week 4 was a laundry list of players who are hurt and banged up. Six players did not practice on Wednesday: DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Zack Baun (concussion), Dallas Goedert (knee), Will Shipley (foot), Fred Johnson (knee), and Hollywood Brown (ankle).

Baun and Smith are the biggest concerns right now, and Baun's injury is leaving the Eagles in serious trouble on an already shaky defense and potentially putting Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the starting lineup with Jihaad Campbell. Smith missed some practice last week as well, but still played, so there is a bit more optimism there.

Kenny Moore's promotion with Eagles almost didn't happen

The Eagles promoted Moore from the practice squad to the 53-man roster the day after their loss to the Bears. Many thought it was simply because they were eager to get him to replace Marcus Epps after his rough day, but there was another reason.

Reports said the Dallas Cowboys wanted to sign Moore after a string of secondary injuries. Philly moved quickly and added him to the roster as soon as possible. Moore opened up about his busy day on Tuesday.

“Yeah, it was a crazy day yesterday. Honestly, I guess everybody was just waiting to for me to go to practice, I don't know. It was weird because we've had all offseason to do that, you know? …After being here for a week, I feel very comfortable with my coaches, and I love it here, and I want to see this opportunity through. I didn't want to just pick up and go again.”

While the offense is running through its own issues, the Eagles' defense also got called out for a bad game against Chicago. They allowed a third-string quarterback to throw for nearly 250 yards and score three touchdowns, with missed tackles and missed assignments throughout the game.

Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio had to face the music on Wednesday as he spoke to the media about the mistakes. Fangio took accountability for the loss.

"I thought our guys were ready to play mentally and physically," Fangio said via Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs. "Our details were off a little bit, especially when they were throwing it quick, so that's on me. Didn't have them ready to execute better."

Eagles signed familiar face to practice squad

A familiar face is back in the building for the Eagles on their practice squad. Defensive tackle Gabe Hall is back and has re-signed to the practice squad after Moore's promotion.

Hall only played in the Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys last season, but he was a valuable depth piece for the team. Fangio praised Hall last season for his work in practice, so the team is getting a respectable name in the building back for the 2026 season.
