Luckily for the Eagles, Hurts thrives against those looks. The veteran quarterback has been far from perfect this year, throwing two interceptions and ranking outside of the NFL's top ten in completion rate, EPA per play, and success rate, per SumerSports.
But when he faces man coverage, Hurts is nearly perfect. Against man coverage this season, he ranks second in EPA per play, second in completion percentage, and second in success rate. When he just needs to place the ball in the right spot, letting his receiver beat their defender, he's as good as they come. Man coverage highlights Hurts' accuracy, one of his strongest traits.
With Caleb Williams sidelined and Bears backup Tyson Bagent at risk of missing the game with a concussion, the Eagles were already positioned for a convincing win. Hurts can turn it into a statement.
