The Philadelphia Eagles escaped with a 24-20 win over the Tennessee Titans. While it wasn't the kind of win they expected going into the game, a win is a win. Quarterback Jalen Hurts had some uneven moments in this contest, but in the end, he came through and showed his resilience.

He finished the outing going 26-of-37 for 264 yards, two passing touchdowns, and two interceptions. Down 20-17 with 1:56 left in the fourth, Hurts led Philadelphia on a 9-play, 65-yard drive that ended in a three-yard touchdown grab to Darius Cooper with nine secs left on the clock.

While it wasn't a perfect outing, his toughness and grit are some of his greatest strengths and helped him lead the Eagles to another victory.

Jalen Hurts' response in Week 2 win should excite Eagles fans

Hurts didn't have it completely, though. In the first quarter, Hurts threw an interception to safety Amani Hooker in the red zone, who returned it for 92 yards. That put the Titans in scoring position, and they capitalized with a touchdown.

Hurts also threw a pick in the fourth quarter to Marcus Harris, which led to another scoring drive for the Titans as they took a 20-17 lead.

Hurts wasn't flawless in this game by any means, but he still rose to the occasion when he needed to. During the game-winning drive, Hurts went six-of-eight for 61 yards, a 135.9 passer rating, and a touchdown.

The Oklahoma product didn't fold when the game mattered the most, and he wasn't gun-shy. That's the kind of mindset you need as a quarterback, especially after a defender calls you out.

In the week leading up to the game, Titans defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons said they need to force Hurts to be a quarterback. That can be taken in multiple ways, but it sounded more like a shot than anything.

It came off as Simmons and the Titans wanting Hurts to lean on his arm more than his legs, but it backfired. It gave Hurts extra motivation, and his postgame comments proved that.

On the field, Simmons approached Hurts, where the signal caller said, "You started that s---. I had to finish it," while shaking his hand.

Hurts was asked about Simmons' comments again at the press conference with team reporters and said he heard what Simmons said. He finished by saying, "I'm happy we won," but his demeanor in the game and the press conference showed he took things personally and handed business on the field.

Taking the field and leading the Eagles to a comeback win showed resilience. Yes, it was an uneven performance by him and the offense, but when his team needed him the most, Hurts answered the call. And that's what you want to see from your franchise QB.
