It's extremely unusual for a fellow rival to go out of his own way to defend a team that he hates, but as the old saying goes: "game recognizes game."
Los Angeles Rams defensive end Jared Verse has been very vocal about how much he hates the Philadelphia Eagles. Call it jealousy, but he has targeted the Eagles fan base since last year.
Verse took a different approach this week as he came to the defense of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Even Verse is getting tired of the old narrative that Hurts can't throw the football.
"A lot of people go like, oh he can't throw, he's only a runner. The mfer can throw. He's a f—ing QB in the NFL for a reason. I don't know why people are saying that s—t.”

Verse is absolutely right (a phase never thought of to be written in an Eagles article)
The heavy criticism of Hurts prior to the Eagles' 33-26 comeback over the Rams on Sunday was that Hurts can't throw the ball deep. It was all the sports media could talk about for two weeks.
Hurts made his feelings known on the sideline in a passionate conversation with Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, and it changed everything in that second half. Next Gen Stats shared that Hurts completed seven of nine passes of 10 or more yards in the air for 154 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
In the game, Hurts threw for 226 yards, and all three touchdowns came in the second half. He also ran for 40 yards on nine carries and a touchdown in the win.

Will this quiet down all the critics out there about Hurts? Probably not, but to hear from a rival and hater of the Eagles should add some merit to the fact that Hurts is a stellar passer.
