Eagles scouting report: Ravens to watch besides Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry

Believe it or not, there are other Ravens who are worth the Eagles' attention.

Can we call this Philadelphia Eagles vs. Baltimore Ravens clash a possible Super Bowl preview? Often, when we look too far ahead, people get nervous. Some people believe in jinxes, you know.

This game feels different though. We could scale things back and drum up overused references like 'playoff atmosphere', but if Philly and the Ravens were to meet during the postseason, there's only one game where that could happen.

Guess which game that is.

This one is loaded with subplots, the best of which is the offensive backfields being mirror images of each other. Expect to hear that angle worked until kickoff... And, right now...

Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley have morphed into quite the one-two punch at QB and RB. The Ravens are star-studded as well. Lamar Jackson is the reigning NFL MVP. Henry is Saquon Barkley's biggest obstacle to winning this season's rushing title.

We could talk about Action Jackson and King Henry until we're blue in the face, but this time, we won't. Let's talk about some of the other guys.

If the Eagles are to win a road game vs. the Ravens, they'll have to worry about more than Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.

Believe it or not, the Ravens roster consists of more than Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Keep an eye on these guys this Sunday as they all could provide several issues.

Nose Tackle Michael Pierce (if he plays)

The Ravens opened a 21-day practice window for Michael Pierce this week. He hasn't been elevated to the active roster at the time of this story's release, but if he plays, he's a load that will irritate the Eagles' offensive line's interior.

Linebacker Roquan Smith

Roquan Smith also returned to Ravens practice this week. He was a full participant in the workout session of Friday.

He's one of those guys that makes you fantasize about what life would be like if he played on your team. He was inactive on Monday Night Football. Let's hope he's rusty.

Kicker Justin Tucker

When a kicker is this good, we see him as a weapon and worth mentioning, but we've learned recently that Justin Tucker is human. He's missed more often as of late than we're used to seeing, but Jake Elliott has struggled at times too. We aren't worried about either of them.

In 12 games this season, he has nailed 17 field goals and 41 extra-point attempts. If this one comes down to a late field goal attempt by this guy, that is most certainly a reason to worry.

Left Tackle Ronnie Stanley

It's Ronnie Stanley who's responsible for protecting Lamar Jackson's blind side. Let's see how that Eagles pass rush looks now that it's down Bryce Huff and Brandon Graham.

Wide Receiver Zay Flowers

Zay Flowers is one of those guys who is 'a threat to score from anywhere on the field'. 57 receptions... 789 yards receiving... Four receiving TDs... He's fun to watch, but so are his fellow pass catchers Rashod Bateman, Isaiah Likely, and Mark Andrews.

Running Back Justice Flowers

If Derrick Henry takes a break or a breather, that doesn't mean Philly's defense can take plays off. Justice Hill is the change of pace guy, and though his stats aren't eye-popping, he's certainly capable of making a few plays.

Safety Kyle Hamilton

The Ravens selected Kyle Hamilton with the 14th selection in the 2022 NFL Draft. He rewarded that faith by making the Pro Football Writers Association's All-Rookie Team. He was also named a First-Team All-Pro, one who earned a Pro Bowl nod.

Why is that important? It's simple. He was taken one spot after the Eagles drafted Jordan Davis. Both are good at what their teams ask them to do. We just thought you'd find that nugget to be interesting.

Cornerbacks Nate Wiggins, Brandon Stephens, and Marlon Humphrey

If DeVonta Smith plays in this one, that will obviously help the Eagles offense tremendously. The Ravens, however, are gifted in the secondary, so Philly's wide receivers won't enjoy a day at the park.

Nate Wiggins, Brandon Stephens, and Marlon Humphrey have combined for 120 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and 29 pass breakups.

Worth mentioning: Edge Rusher Odafe Oweh

Here's someone who can give Jalen Hurts fits. Odafe Oweh is tied with Kyle Van Noy with eight sacks apiece. They lead all Ravens in that category. Van Noy is doubtful to play due to hamstring and neck issues, but Philly must keep heads on swivels when Oweh is on the field.

Worth mentioning: Wide Receiver Nelson Agholor

We saved the best for last. Remember this guy? Nelson Agholor has 26 receptions, 205 yards receiving, and two receiving TDs on this season's resume.

While we would never say we fear him. We thought of a nightmare scenario this week. Long story short, we hope he doesn't make the play to decide this one.
