The Philadelphia Eagles have faced adversity early in the season, and much of the burden has fallen on the offense. They have struggled to find consistency in both the run and pass game.

They have also been hit with a hamstring injury to WR1 DeVonta Smith, which has sidelined him for the last two games. There's no clear date for his return, and with more juice needed in the receiver room, Philadelphia should keep an eye on Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

ESPN's Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler expressed that Thomas Jr. is a name that could be moved after the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade.

"He seems to have fallen behind both Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers in the Jaguars' wide receiver pecking order, which is one reason teams are interested in finding out if he's available. It's a logical thought: Thomas is a former first-round pick and a top talent who might fit better in a different offense, similar to Houston's thinking on Harrison," Graziano wrote.

While there are some questions about whether the Jags will actually move on from Thomas Jr., the Eagles should call to see what it would take to land him.

Eagles could have an intriguing trade opportunity with Brian Thomas Jr.

During the offseason, there was a lot of chatter about whether they would trade Thomas Jr., but they shut it down and said he was going to be part of the future. But when there's smoke, there's typically fire.

After a breakout rookie season, Thomas Jr. has taken a step back after Liam Coen got hired in 2025 and is firmly behind Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers on the depth chart. And his stats prove it.

As the numbers indicate, Thomas Jr.'s impact isn't the same in that system. While those reasons remain unknown, his production has fallen off a cliff. His season-high in receiving yards this year is 40. The fact that his name continues to pop up in trade rumors is significant.

With Jacksonville poised to give Washington a big-money extension in the offseason, they could be willing to move on from Thomas Jr. if the price is right. The LSU product stands at 6-foot-2 and ran a blazing 4.33-second 40-yard dash, flashing his electric speed.

For whatever reason, things aren't clicking fully with that staff. He would be an interesting option for Philadelphia and give them another talented weapon. With Smith out, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon, and Darius Cooper are the team's top three WRs.

Wicks has been solid, and Cooper has found the endzone four times already. Meanwhile, Lemon is still adjusting to the NFL game, but it's no secret that this passing game could use more juice. The idea of a player like Thomas Jr. joining the fold would immediately make this offense more dynamic and give them a 24-year-old who has a chip on his shoulder.

Thomas Jr. showed that he can be a big play threat in this league. Things have been off the last two years, and a change of scenery may be best for him. With this Eagles offense lacking much of a spark, Howie Roseman shouldn't turn away from potentially adding a player with the talent that Thomas Jr. possesses.
