Top storylines for Eagles vs. Panthers
Eagles filled with so many injuries on the roster
Count them up: 24 players made the first injury report. That might be one of the longest injury reports the team has ever had, but that's been the story of the year.
Optimism remains that Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith can still play. Both players missed practice on Wednesday, which leaves the Eagles with a lot to be desired. It's going to be a long week of figuring out who will play and who won't.
Can the Eagles' offense finally find their identity?
The running game only had 22 yards last week, and the passing game is inconsistent at best. It doesn't help that the offensive line has struggled all season with lineup changes and more happening.
Jalen Hurts is the star of the offense and the man who has to carry the team on his back, potentially without Barkley and Smith. In Week 5, Hurts showed he might not be perfect at it, but he can do it. He needs to do it more consistently and use his legs to pick up yards.
Eagles' defense faces off against a top-ranked passing attack
Before their bye week, Bryce Young was leading the NFL in passing yards. The Panthers are dangerous in the passing game, led by rising star receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
Quinyon Mitchell got his first career regular-season interception last week after four in the postseason so that the Eagles will need more of that. Mitchell, Riq Woolen, and Cooper DeJean will be tested with a banged-up safety position not there to help them; they'll need to win their one-on-one battles.
Predictions for Eagles vs. Panthers
Passing Leader: Bryce Young
Rushing Leader: Chuba Hubbard
Receiving Leader: Tetairoa McMillan
Who wins turnover battle: Eagles
Final Score: Eagles 21, Panthers 20
Outside of the Chicago Bears game in Week 3, the Eagles have been competitive in each game and have had chances to win. Even in the Bears game, they were only down by three at halftime, and they should have been either tied or up.

Carolina has one of the best offenses in the NFL, so this game comes down to whether the Eagles can force Young to turn the ball over more than once. Philly's offense will have to wake up and put some drives together in the second half if they want any shot at winning.
