It was the news Philadelphia Eagles fans knew was coming, but still didn't want to read—no Jalen Carter.

The Eagles shared their inactives before their Week 14 showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers, as Carter is officially out after having procedures on both shoulders. Carter is expected to be week-to-week.

Here are the full list of inactives for the game against the Chargers:

  • Joshua Uche, EDGE
  • Sam Howell, Third QB
  • Mac McWilliams, CB
  • A.J. Dillon, RB
  • Lane Johnson, OT
  • Jalen Carter, DL

Eagles must roll on without two of their top players

Carter, despite the rough start to the season with ejections, penalties, and injuries, has been dominant over the last month-plus for the Eagles. He and Jordan Davis have been a force on the defensive line, making more of an impact batting balls down than pressuring the quarterback.

Davis and Moro Ojomo will be handling the duties on the defensive line for the Eagles. An interesting note: rookie fourth-round pick Ty Robinson has been activated for the first time in over a month and might get some playing time himself.

Johnson is missing another game for the Eagles at right tackle. The hope is that this will be the last game he will miss, as the expected date of return for him has been the Week 15 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. It will be Fred Johnson filling in at right tackle once again.

With the defensive tackle injured, Uche lost his spot on the active roster and will be sitting out. It was expected that he snaps on defense would be reduced to zero since Brandon Graham has returned.

As the Eagles know who will be out on the field, it's time for the team to step up and pick up a much-needed road game.
