Eagles whose stock is soaring following Philadelphia's Week 7 win over Giants

This one wasn't as painful to watch.

And, just like that, the Philadelphia Eagles are 4-2. We asked for some stress-free football. Sunday's game came close to delivering. You can't ask for much more than a 28-3 final score to end a rivalry game... Though you know we will still ask for more.

Jalen Hurts did a fine job on Sunday afternoon. Again, his day ended without him turning the ball over. That's two consecutive weeks that we can make that claim.

Still, it's only natural that we leave this contest with concerns. Maybe that's the imaginary coach living inside us. It's hard to ignore some meat left on the bone and some areas need improving.

Jalen too often misses open receivers (or finds them once his passing windows have closed). That discussion continues and will be revisited this week. But, we end this on a high note.

Here are a handful of Birds whose stock is soaring after Week 7's Giants dismantling. We also add some honorable mentions.

Must read: Saquon delivers an MVP-level performance

Worth mentioning: Eagles Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio

We give him crap when he stinks the joint up. He must be credited when he hits the bulls eye. Vic Fangio was again masterful in Week 7.

His defense held serve until Philly's offense got rolling. They continued to be stout all afternoon.

So, we'll retire the discussions about whether the game has passed him by... for a week anyway. We won't quite say his stock is soaring, but it's rising. He did a damn fine job on Sunday.

Saquon Barkley, Running Back

Saquon Barkley's stock is soaring. He'll never say this, but we're happy he enjoyed his moment. He's the ultimate professional and understands football is a business, but deep down, this one had to feel great.

He's on fire, and each Eagles win has his fingerprints all over its surface. Maybe we're jumping the gun. It's only Week 7, but we believe it's time to start MVP conversations.

Cooper DeJean, Cornerback/Punt Returner

Cooper DeJean has done a great job since taking over as the starting slot corner. He notched four tackles on Sunday. All of them were solo, but it's a punt return that raised his stock to supernova.

All you can do is appreciate that type of effort.

Jalen Carter, Defensive Tackle

If this guy stays motivated, he'll be one of the best Eagles to ever suit up. Often imitated (and double-teamed), he's very hard to duplicate.

Jalen Carter racked up four tackles, three of the solo variety. How about two sacks, two additional QB hits, and two TFLs for good measure.

Quinyon Mitchell, Cornerback

We can't say enough about this young man. This was a damn fine draft choice by Philly. The interceptions will come. He just needs stay the course and continue on this incline.

Nakobe Dean, Linebacker

Nakobe Dean misses at least one open-field tackle per week. Frankly, it's tough to watch, but once he settled in, he enjoyed a nice day. His stock isn't quite on fire yet. We need to see the consistency, but 11 tackles, two TFLs, two sacks, and four QB hits will certainly is certainly a good start AND good enough to earn him a mention on this list.

Also worth mentioning: AJ Brown

It's hard to say AJ's stock is soaring after this game because it's soared since his arrival. In Week 7, he added another TD reception to his resume.

Five receptions and 89 yards are also the results of his day. He makes great showings week after week look routine.

Here's a message to Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offensive coaches, if you see man-to-man coverage, look in Number 11's direction. We truly think he's elite and his skills are unmatched. Philly is fortunate to employ him and DeVonta Smith.
