While it may not have been as many as other NFL teams after the preseason, the Philadelphia Eagles still made their first wave of cuts, which fans found hard to watch.
Most of the players were guys who didn't really make an impact on the team; some played well in the preseason. There was a surprise thrown in there, but a few others, some felt, should have made the team over others.
Four players in particular might have Eagles fans questioning the franchise for the cuts they made and regretting the cuts they made later. Here are those players who were cut and the team might look back on in the future and wish they hadn't.

Shaun Wade, CB
Considering how bad the cornerbacks were in the preseason for the Eagles, Wade was one of the very few bright spots for the unit. He forced fumbles in two straight games and was decent in coverage. Wade had a better preseason than Mac McWilliams and Kelee Ringo, but those two have tenure over Wade, so they have a better shot of making the roster.
If the Eagles gave Wade a chance, he could be a great asset to the special teams. It feels like a missed opportunity by Philly.
Cole Wisniewski, S
An injury in camp really set Wisniewski back to the point that he lost any chance of being in the conversation to start. The former Texas Tech defender showed flashes of being good, but the lack of experience in the preseason really hurt him.
Philly will hopefully bring him back to the practice squad to further develop him. The Reed Blankenship comparisons are still alive with Wisniewski, so hope isn't lost on his Eagles career just yet.
Zion Wilson, DT
Surprisingly enough, Wilson was actually on a lot of final 53-man roster predictions (not Inside the Iggles), as he did have a nice preseason and training camp. He never made any highlight plays, but he held up his own at defensive tackle and disrupted offensive plays.
He's a young guy the team can develop, but if the Eagles want to keep Uar Bernard over Wilson, that could be a short-term mistake. Wilson could add depth now instead of hoping it works for the future.
Carson Steele, RB
This was the one that left fans angrier and more upset than any other early roster cut. Steele quickly became a star on the team over the last two preseason games. Overall, he ran 21 times for 59 yards and was the leading receiver with 14 receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

Steele was unique in the sense that he could play fullback and running back for the Eagles. While he looks poised to make the practice squad, they might be missing out on a guy who could make a real impact on this offense.
