The Philadelphia Eagles may have moved to 3-2 after taking down the Cleveland Browns, but this win did little to cool the hot seat rumors circling around head coach Nick Sirianni. The Eagles won just 20-16, and Cleveland may have won without a Deshaun Watson nightmare game and a few puzzling coaching decisions.

Sirianni wasn't even able to bask in the glow of this victory for too long, as he was seen accosting fans who started to boo and demand his firing. The incident and Sirianni's response to it detracted from a win that got Philly back on track after a tough start to 2024.

ESPN analyst Damien Woody demeaned Sirianni by calling him a "clown" and adding that he doesn't "have any respect for what this man is doing." Woody took issue with the fact Sirianni brought his children to his postgame availability in an attempt to soften the media blow.

Rex Ryan said that a head coach must connect with his fanbase, and Sirianni has failed to do that. Dan Orlovsky added that Sirianni misses the leadership that Jason Kelce brought into the fold while (correctly) adding that nothing gets Philadelphia fans more riled up than a coach who believes they are better than the fanbase.

Looking from a mile away, it appears as though Sirianni has been doing a great job in Philly. He is 37-19 as a coach, including a stretch in which he went 29-3 in regular season games Hurts started. He has made the playoffs in all three of his seasons in Philadelphia and came inches away from winning a Super Bowl.

However, things have taken a turn for the worse. Between their collapse in 2023, disappointing start to 2024, and the regression of Hurts as a passer, it's more than fair to argue that Sirianni is leaving a ton of meat on the bone with a team that is ready to compete for championships.

After changing coordinators on both sides of the ball this offseason, it's not out of line to suggest that Sirianni is coaching for his job. The proverbial Sword of Damocles is hanging over his head, and he is spending his time yelling at fans who are notoriously aggressive and demanding of their football team.

The Eagles may make the postseason, as the NFC East is one of the weaker divisions in football, but this team looks nothing like the Super Bowl contender on the bill of goods fans were sold.
