Nick Sirianni got into a heated exchange with Eagles fans after win over Browns
The Philadelphia Eagles knocked off the Cleveland Browns to move to 3-2 on the year but the fans were not happy during the game. In the fans' defense, the Eagles narrowly defeated what appears to be a lousy Browns team, only winning by four points.
In the final seconds of the first half, the Eagles attempted a 57-yard field goal to go up by 10 points. Unfortunately for them, Myles Garrett blocked the field goal and the Browns special teams returned it the other way for six points. Suddenly it went from the Eagles trying to go up by 10 points to the Browns tying the game.
Eagles fans let their team hear it at that moment, booing loudly in true Philly sports fans fashion. Following what ended up being a 20-16 win, head coach Nick Sirianni mocked the fans by putting a finger up to his ear as if to indicate that he couldn't hear them booing now. He then proceeded to yell at them but it was unclear what was being yelled by the Eagles head coach.
This isn't the first time that Sirianni has done something stupid like this. The most famous occasion was when he mocked Chiefs fans at Arrowhead last year after a big Eagles win and then saw his team proceed to go 2-6 and get bounced in the first round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Chiefs went on to win another Super Bowl.
This instance of Sirianni talking smack is just unnecessary. His team might have won but barely and against a bad team. Had the Eagles then gone on to push the Browns around and win in blowout fashion, maybe he'd have had a reason to do this but it felt like a silly thing for him to do.
Nick Sirianni continues his animated ways in win over Browns
With the win, the Eagles are 3-2 and back over .500. Fortunately the Commander lost, so the gap between the Eagles and Commanders in the standings is only one game now. Even with that being the case, the Eagles didn't particularly play well this week and that's what makes Sirianni's antics more embarrassing.
You can do stuff like this when you're blowing teams out week after week but to narrowly beat a bad team and then talk trash? Yeah, not a great look.
