After a nice 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 1, the Philadelphia Eagles hope to play clean football against the Tennessee Titans.
Tennessee is coming off a rough 23-10 loss to the New York Jets, meaning they need to bounce back in a big way. That means the Titans will likely take chances against a team that has made the playoffs for five straight years.
Philly is ready for anything Tennessee throws at them, but the Titans might not realize the kind of mistakes they are about to make against the Eagles. Here's a look at every mistake the Titans are about to make that'll cost them the game.
What mistakes will the Titans make against the Eagles?
Use Cam Ward on QB-designed runs
Ward may have a strong arm, but he can use his legs when he needs to. The Titans might want to get creative with the offense if the Eagles stuff Tony Pollard and get Ward involved.
Philly has the athletes on the outside to make sure Ward doesn't hurt them with his legs. Even without Jonathan Greenard in the lineup, Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith combined for 13 pressures, so they can handle whatever Ward throws at them.
Tony Pollard getting 20 or more touches
Speaking of Pollard, the Eagles are going to want to watch out for what he can do to them. He only had seven carries in Week 1, but averaged five yards per touch.
Tennessee wants to involved Pollard more in the running game to take the pressure off of Ward. That's going to be a mistake against one of the top rush defenses in the NFL led by Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Zack Baun.
Target Carnell Tate against Quinyon Mitchell
Tennessee doesn't want to target a pass in the direction of Mitchell, but they may not have a choice in the matter. Tate is their top weapon in the passing game and they need to make sure to get him involved.
This could be a massive mistake against one of the NFL's top cornerbacks, who posted a passer rating allowed of 78.5 and allowed only two receptions. Good luck to Tate for trying to get anything going against the former All-Pro.
Give Jeffery Simmons stunts to throw Eagles' offensive line off
Simmons is a force and can flip a game with his impact on the line. Tennessee will try to be creative in anything they can do to give him the opening he needs to pressure the quarterback.
Philly will be all over it, even with Landon Dickerson not playing. Simmons will be double-teamed every step of the way. Wherever he goes, two Eagles linemen will meet him.

Tennessee wants to force Hurts into mistakes. Simmons talked about making Hurts "be a QB," as if he hasn't been a good quarterback before.

Hurts can make them pay, though, through the weapons he can throw to on a blitz like Makai Lemon or Dallas Goedert. The Titans think they can rattle Hurts, but he'll make them pay with his underrated arm talent.
