Players have come and gone from the Philadelphia Eagles, but opinions are mixed on how well they perform after leaving the City of Brotherly Love.
One former Eagles player who has been through the wringer of late is running back Miles Sanders. Since leaving Philly during the 2023 offseason, Sanders has played for the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys.
Sanders is currently a free agent looking for a new home, and he hopes that won't be for long after the latest news. ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that Sanders worked out with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Miles Sanders might get third shot at an NFL team since leaving Philly
A former second-round pick of the Eagles in 2019, Sanders was the main back in Philly for four years. He had his best season the year the team went to the Super Bowl and lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. He rushed for 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Sanders finished his Eagles career with 3,708 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also added 942 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The former Penn State back made his first and only Pro Bowl team in 2022.
Things have gone south since then for Sanders, rushing for only 637 yards in two years with the Panthers. His run with the Cowboys last year was short, rushing for 117 yards in four games.
Injuries over the last two years have not helped Sanders at all and have hindered any chance of him competing for a starting job. During the last two years, he has missed 19 total games. He's been mostly a backup or rotational back.
It's a shame to see the direction Sanders has gone over the last three years after showing so much promise early in his career. With the Eagles, he showed early in his career that he was versatile in running and catching out of the backfield. Durability has ultimately shaped the kind of career he has now.

Sanders is hoping to get what could be his final shot at making it to the NFL. Eagles fans would love to see his comeback story play out with the Raiders if they decide to sign him.
