So far this season, the Philadelphia Eagles have played four of their first six games away from the friendly confines of Lincoln Financial Field. They'll be on the road again this week. The travel to The Buckeye State. Their opponent is a steadily-improving Cincinnati Bengals squad.

This is a matchup of two opponents who desire to keep steadying their ships after some rocky starts. Philly is a road underdog. The game is scheduled for a 1 pm EST kickoff.

Both of these teams need wins. Only one can earn one. That's something Philadelphia hasn't done versus Cincinnati often. The Bengals have won nine of the first 14 meetings. These teams have also tied twice.

Statistical data won't produce wins and losses, but it does help conjure up strategy. This week, the numbers suggest the Birds have some opportunities for success.

AJ Brown has exceeded 89 yards and caught a TD pass in each of his three starts.

AJ Brown was again phenomenal in his most recent game, snagging all five of his targets and reaching the end zone once. His 89 receiving yards in that one is also impressive. He has caught a touchdown pass in all three games he has appeared in.

We recommend throwing the ball to AJ and DeVonta Smith whenever there is doubt for Jalen Hurts.

Philly is 3-0 with Brown in the lineup, notching wins over the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, and NY Giants. This next game will be one of Philly's toughest this season. A heavy dose of 11 could be what the doctor ordered.

The Bengals have allowed an 86.4 rating to opposing quarterbacks

Jalen has come under fire lately. He has protected the football and hasn't turned the ball over, but he has been guilty of misreads and missing open receivers far too often.

Things won't get any easier vs. the Bengals. Their secondary has only allowed 6.4 yards per attempt. That ranks 4th in the NFL among all defensive secondaries. That might mean the offensive strategy could revolve around you know who.

Saquon Barkley ran for 176 yards in Week 7 despite receiving zero carries in the fourth quarter.

We can't stop talking about Saquon Barkley's massive day, nor can we ignore his humility. He's been a welcomed addition to the Eagles' offensive attack. He has often covered for obvious deficiencies.

Postseason accolades are a sure thing if he keeps this up. While we worry about over-usage and late-season fatigue, he'll again be needed in Week 8. Philly's rushing attack can take a raucous Paycor Stadium crowd out of the game. It also keeps Joe Burrow and company off of the field.

Joe Burrow has only thrown two interceptions all season and is completing over 70% of his passes with a 110.1 rating.

It seems like a simple theory. Control the clock. Keep Joe Burrow on the sideline as he can't beat anyone there, but to no avail. The Bengals average over 25 points this season.

They're led by their now-blonde bomber. He is completing over 70% of his passes and has thrown 14 TDs on the campaign despite averaging 7.8 yards per attempt. He's trying to get the ball downfield.

And, why wouldn't he with Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase at his disposal?

Burrow has also thrown two interceptions, so he's been careful with the football. His 110.1 QB rating is second best in the NFL.

Philly isn't forcing many turnovers. They'll need to capitalize on the rare opportunities that arise, but there's a chance that the Birds won't cause any again this week.

That means they must play solid defense and get off the field on third down.
