The Philadelphia Eagles are trying to move on from their heartbreaking Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Even at 2-3, this team is starting to look like the playoffs will be much harder to reach. They are not the only ones going through it, though, as some former players had up-and-down weekends in Week 5.

Here's a look at some of the top former Eagles players and how they did in Week 5 of the 2026 season.

  1. Reed Blankenship helps Texans win first game of 2026
  2. Jahan Dotson with second-straight solid outing with Falcons
  3. Nakobe Dean can't help Raiders in second straight loss
  4. Jaelan Phillips progressing to play for Panthers against Eagles in Week 6
  5. Rasul Douglas continues to shine for Commanders
  6. T.J. Edwards injured in Bears loss to Packers

Reed Blankenship helps Texans win first game of 2026

Blankenship had a rough start to his tenure with the Houston Texans, but he seems to be trending in the right direction. His eight tackles, one pass deflection, and one tackle for loss helped Houston win their first game of the season, 26-3, over the Tennessee Titans. The hope is that this will help the young safety carry some momentum throughout the season.

Jahan Dotson with second-straight solid outing with Falcons

For two weeks in a row, Dotson has made a significant impact in the Atlanta Falcons' passing game. He went for 54 yards, matching his season high from last week, in the overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Dotson is catching fire at the right time.

Nakobe Dean can't help Raiders in second straight loss

Dean has been arguably the best former Eagles player on the team this season, but his Las Vegas Raiders team is trending in the wrong direction. He had 12 tackles in Week 5, but the Raiders got blown out by the New England Patriots 45-17. Things might be heading into bad territory for the Raiders, but Dean is still great.

Jaelan Phillips progressing to play for Panthers against Eagles in Week 6

Philadelphia Eagles fans are looking forward to playing Phillips for the first time since he bolted them in free agency to join the Carolina Panthers. Phillips has been dealing with a hamstring injury, with the latest being that he could be in line to play against the Eagles in Week 6. After having two sacks this season, Phillips hopes to get another against his old team.

Rasul Douglas continues to shine for Commanders

Douglas has been a solid, reliable corner since leaving the Eagles, but he is finding success with the Washington Commanders this season. In the Commanders' 27-27 tie with the New York Giants, he finished the game with 10 tackles and one pass deflection. It hasn't been perfect, but Douglas is proving he can still start in the NFL.

T.J. Edwards injured in Bears loss to Packers

Former Eagles linebacker T.J. Edwards has had an odd start to the season with limited tackles, but he is showing good progress in pass coverage. In Week 5, Edwards hurt his hamstring and did not return for the Bears' 31-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Edwards' return timeline is unknown, but it is unfortunate for the former Eagles LB.
