Former Eagles Pro Bowler said exactly what Nick Sirianni won't admit

If Philadelphia's head coach isn't going to say it, at least someone will.

Slowly but surely, the Philadelphia Eagles are ostensibly unraveling. The apparent tension and disjointedness in their locker room are palpable. Everyone can sense the internal strife, except the team's head coach, Nick Sirianni.

The Eagles are far from connected, and that's reflected on the field by a glaring lack of effort. Sirianni hasn't addressed the matter, considering it's contributing to another late-season meltdown, eerily similar to the one in 2023.

Nevertheless, Eagles legend Seth Joyner wasn't afraid to speak up during a recent appearance on 94WIP and say what Sirianni should be telling his group.

Franchise icon Seth Joyner holds Eagles accountable in way HC Nick Sirianni hasn't

"If you're really detailed and you watch the film, [the Eagles] don't finish plays, and they don't fight. They don't fight and try to take care of their guy like their life depends on it. I watched [offensive lineman] Landon Dickerson block a guy and let him go, and he let him go and the guy goes and runs and makes the play. ... 'Did you hear a freaking whistle?' What are you doing stopping and letting the guy go? If it's your job to block him, you block him until you hear the second damn whistle. But these guys, they block, and they stop."

As a two-time All-Pro with the Eagles and Super Bowl XXXIII winner, Joyner knows a thing or two about competing at a high level. He can also see when a squad isn't operating with the energy and sense of urgency necessary to win in the NFL.

Joyner is upset that Philly doesn't play until the ball is dead. His comments were interestingly aimed at Dickerson, who emphatically emphasized that the 2024 and 2025 Eagles aren't the same this past offseason.

To an extent, Dickerson was right regarding the Eagles' year-over-year difference, albeit for the wrong reasons. They had something to prove last season, and it showed in their dominance, which cannot be said of the current state of affairs in Philadelphia.

You'd think the sky is falling in Philadelphia the way that Joyner and others are talking about the Eagles. Yet, they're still the reigning champions until someone snatches that crown from them and sits just one game back of the NFC's No. 1 seed. The concerns are valid, however, for their hopes of defending their title.
