Former Eagles RB could find new home with NFC East rival Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders are in the hunt for the playoffs for the first time since 2020. They may take a former Philadelphia Eagles running back with them. Why not? They're already home to Zach Ertz.
On Wednesday, the Commanders worked out Boston Scott. After spending six seasons with The Birds, he has spent time with the L.A. Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers, but he has yet to see the playing field this year for anyone. Recently, he transitioned into eSports professionally.
Boston Scott is the likely option for Commanders running back group.
Washington has made massive strides this season. They led the NFC East until the Eagles flew past them in Week 11. Now 7-5, the Commanders are reeling after consecutive losses. They are also looking to strengthen their roster.
Running backs Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler are both injured. The only healthy options aren't anyone you'd look to for providing a spark. Adding Boston Scott to the lineup might be the perfect temporary solution.
As you know, he spent six years of his career in Philadelphia, finishing with 3,365 total yards and 17 touchdowns. The 'Giants Killer' is most known for playing his best football vs. a division rival.
This past May, Scott signed a one-year contract with the Rams. After being released, he spent a few weeks with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He's now in search of an active roster spot.
The Commanders will see the Eagles again three days before Christmas. Might Scott be with them?
Interestingly enough, had the season ended after Week 12, the Eagles would have hosted the Commanders during the playoffs. They meet again in a few weeks. That should be an important game.
Interestingly enough, if the season ended today, the Eagles would play the Commanders in the playoffs. In the meantime, Philadelphia will travel to Northwest Stadium on December 22.
