Former Eagles who thrived during Week 11 of the NFL season (and two who didn't)

We can't help ourselves. We always find ourselves peeking at other NFL games to see what former Eagles are doing.

There are only two things we hate about football. First, it takes forever for the season to start. Second, 18 weeks have evaporated before you know it. As this is being written, only seven games remain in the Philadelphia Eagles season.

Things are going well. After a 2-2 start, the Birds have rattled off six straight wins. Seven games remain. A few tests have been thrown in for good measure.

After taking care of business on Thursday Night Football, the Birds sat idle on Sunday and Monday and won't play again until the coming Sunday Night Football offering.

That allowed for a stress-free slate of NFL action. We peeked to see what some former Birds are doing. Here are a few that stood out and a couple who didn't.

This just in - Nelson Agholor isn't as bad as Jalen Reagor, but he isn't great either.

We appreciated the opportunity to see Nelson Agholor enjoy some nice moments during Philly's 2017-2018 Super Bowl run (and the next season during Nick Foles' swan song). We've long drawn a conclusion though. He may never consistently warrant the first-round draft choice used to select him.

The former USC Trojan has notched 13 receptions for 205 yards this season which is still better than Jalen Reagor. The latter never learned he isn't as good as he thinks but keeps hanging around.

He's currently in Los Angeles with the Chargers. He's only been targeted seven times in five games but hasn't caught a pass since November 3rd. That one didn't produce any yardage however.

Let's end this story with a few high notes. Here are a few former Birds who thrived in Week 11.

Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders

As you all know, we watched this one firsthand. Zach Ertz wasn't dominant vs. the Eagles but enjoyed a few nice moments.

He turned in six receptions on seven targets. Jayden Daniels also found him for a garbage-time TD and two-point conversion. The latter reception was highlighted by a nice toe-tap in the back of the end zone.

T.J. Edwards & D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears

Zack Baun has played so well that he's helped some of us move past the hurt feelings we experience every time T.J. Edwards makes a tackle in a Chicago Bears jersey. T.J. has balled out, but Zack has too. Let's hope the latter is extended and stays in Philly.

T.J. had a quiet week by his standards: six tackles, one tackle for loss. Fellow Bear D'Andre Swift enjoyed a SportsCenter moment.

T.J. has collected 78 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, an interception, and two pass breakups on the season. D'Andre has stacked 635 rushing yards and five TDs on 155 carries. He has added another 243 yards on 28 receptions.

DeMeco Ryans & Derek Barnett, Houston Texans

We move from one team fielding a couple of former Birds to another. Welcome to the Houston Texans section of our tale.

Former Eagles linebacker DeMeco Ryans has evolved into a damn good football coach. He led his team to the postseason in year one and won a playoff after notching a 10-7 regular-season record. The Texans are 7-4 this season.

And, Derek Barnett is forcing fumbles and scoring touchdowns.

Seeing as how this came vs. the Dallas Cowboys and led to six points in an important game for the Texans, we're willing to label this as the second-best fumble recovery of Derek's career.

You all remember his best, don't you? That one occurred during a pretty big game too!

Oh, and speaking of other former Eagles, if you're interested, Devin White is also in Houston after the Birds determined it was best to move on from him in October. He has tallied ten tackles during four games.

Until next time... Week 12 sure arrived in a hurry!
