Not sure if the Philadelphia Eagles will live to regret this, but a former player they did not re-sign in free agency has found a new home.

The Buffalo Bills announced that they signed former Eagles fullback Ben VanSumeren. It was reported in March that the Eagles did not give VanSumeren a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

VanSumeren did a lot for the Eagles, starting his career as a linebacker before moving to fullback. He only played on a snap this past season, and that was on the opening kickoff of the Eagles' Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys, as he suffered a patellar tendon tear and was placed on IR the rest of the season.

Former Eagle Ben VanSumeren is official off the team and with the Bills

During his three-year career with the Eagles, VanSumeren racked up 16 tackles and caught one pass. He was a jack-of-all-trades, playing offense, defense, and special teams for Philly.

His fullback position he had will not be in an interesting spot. Philly could be looking at Carson Steele or Cameron Latu for that job. Latu held the job all season in VanSumeren's place and did a good job, but he was also an elite special teams ace, as he made a key punt block earlier in the season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It's more than likely that Latu would be the favorite to win that job since he is also a tight end on the team. Having that many responsibilities and showing off the versatility makes him too good just to let go of.

A lot of Eagles fans will be rooting for VanSumeren from afar, as he was a solid player for them and now has a chance to make an impact with the Bills.
