As the world turns, the A.J. Brown situation with the Philadelphia Eagles and all the noise that accompanies it has continued to spark social media debates. At this point, Brown himself is steering clear of any drama, but his name continues to drop with regularity all over the internet.
Never one to shy away from voicing his own opinion, especially when it comes to the Philly faithful, former teammate and two-time Philadelphia Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson took to X in assessing the situation surrounding the embattled star wideout.
"Philly turned on AJ so bad it’s sad! Yall love us when we help yall win but damn why yall bashing Bruda now ?!"
C.J. Gardner-Johnson didn't hold back his feelings on Eagles fans
While some Eagles fans have had enough of #11's antics - the questionable effort at times and a few veiled shots at teammates and the organization come to mind - there remains a massive legion of fans who want to see Brown remain in town for the long haul. It's also important to keep in mind Gardner-Johnson's track record with this fanbase, given the previous social media storms he's created.
Simply put, Gardner-Johnson has had a well-documented love-hate relationship with the city of brotherly love. The safety, who joined the Eagles in 2022 and played a key role in helping them make it to the Super Bowl that season, soon left town with some very choice words in mind.
Shortly after exiting Philadelphia following that Super Bowl run to sign with the Detroit Lions, Gardner-Johnson unleashed quite a mouthful on the Philly faithful during a now-viral live stream:
“My least favorite thing is the people,” Gardner-Johnson remarked when asked about Philadelphia. They're f*****g obnoxious, I f*****g can't stand the f*****s."
Now of course, fans will recall he did pull an immediate 180 once he returned prior to the 2024 Super Bowl winning season, providing a mea culpa in continuing his torrid love affair with Philly:
"I do owe the fans of Philly an apology, regardless this is an amazing place and we had some memories together! Let’s go get us one."
And while he did, in fact, help get one in the form of a Super Bowl LIX trophy, his second tenure with the Eagles would once again prove to be short-lived, as he was traded to the Houston Texans following that campaign.

Either way, Gardner-Johnson is still front-and-center when it comes to the chatter surrounding his former teammate. And the feelings of this fanbase regarding Brown are becoming more polarizing as time moves on. With the possibility of a June trade becoming a highly plausible outcome, it soon may not matter much at all what the former Philadelphia safety feels about both Brown and the Eagles' passionate fanbase.
