It appears the Philadelphia Eagles are not done adding talent to the secondary and special teams.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that free agent cornerback Nazeeh Johnson is being brought in for a visit with the Eagles. Johnson spent the last four years with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he was primarily on special teams.

In 29 career games, Johnson racked up 66 tackles, three tackles for loss, three pass deflections, one quarterback hit, and one sack. He started six games in the Chiefs' secondary back in 2024.

Nazeeh Johnson might be putting an Eagles cornerback on notice

Johnson is a decent corner, but his strength is on special teams, where he has thrived over the years. He might have a chance to beat out another Eagles cornerback with similar traits.

Eagles cornerback Kelee Ringo has also been a stellar special teams player, but hasn't done as well as a cornerback. Despite being over six feet tall and towering over many receivers, the Eagles have not translated that into success on defense.

Last year, Ringo competed with Adoree' Jackson for the starting CB2 job but did not win it. When he was playing last year, it was evident why he didn't win the job in the first place, as he struggled mightily.

There's a chance the Eagles could keep both Johnson and Ringo, but more likely they'll battle it out for a roster spot. While both are proven on special teams, it would come down to who would play better in the secondary, as cornerback depth is much needed on the Eagles.

Ringo better hope Johnson doesn't get signed, or there might be trouble for him in training camp with a new-position battle to monitor.
