Every so often, we look at the Philadelphia Eagles' roster, and we still have to pinch ourselves when we see Saquon Barkley's name. There are days when we still can't believe what we witnesses. That dude was breaking 60-yarders at will and won a Super Bowl WITH THE BIRDS! He's been so good that he made us forget about the guy who was here before him.

In consecutive seasons. 2022 and 2023, Philly's offense produced Pro Bowl seasons with two different players. Miles Sanders enjoyed the best season of his career during his final run with the Birds. One year later, D'Andre Swift's one-and-done run was one to remember.

Why are we discussing those guys, you ask? There's actually a pretty good reason. Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the details of Swift's deal still hadn't been finalized.

We can officially close the book on the D'Andre Swift chapter as the details of his trade have been finalized.

Okay, pay attention! This is going to move swiftly. Just under two full years ago, on April 29 in 2023, Philadelphia traded a 2025 fourth-round pick to the Detroit Lions to acquire D'Andre Swift. The Birds and Lions also swapped seventh-rounders to sweeten the pot.

Philly used the 249th selection to land former Texas Longhorns star Moro Ojomo. Detroit selected wide receiver Antoine Green at 219.

We weren't done... Believe it or not, that fourth-round pick, the 134th overall, was given back to the Birds by the Lions in another trade. That means Philly would have essentially acquired Swift, the 134th selection in 2025, and a seventh-rounder (that wound up being one used to acquire Ojomo) by simply shipping off a seventh-round selection in 2023.

And, you wonder why we call Howie Roseman a genius.

Here's the thing though. Philly traded the 134th selection again at the end of Round 3. That draft choice and the101st-overall selection were packaged in a swap with the Denver Broncos. The Eagles received picks 111 (4th), 130 (4th), and 191 (6th).

The Broncos selected Alabama edge rusher Que Robinson at 134. Philly added interior defensive lineman Ty Robinson with pick 111, but they traded pick 130.

So, with that, we will officially end the D'Andre Swift discussion and declare the Birds the winners of their trade with the Detroit Lions.
