It wasn't pretty, but the Philadelphia Eagles took down the Washington Commanders 29-18 in Week 16 to win the NFC East for the second straight season. Still, everyone was talking about Saquon Barkley's performance.

Barkley kept fighting throughout the game with tough three, four, and five-yard runs for the first three quarters against the Commanders. It wasn't until the fourth quarter that Barkley got his vintage long run with a 48-yard rumble that set up his touchdown run to seal the win.

After that run, FOX broadcaster Greg Olsen gave his thoughts on the run from Barkley. Olsen's comment is something Eagles fans have been thinking about since September.

"Sometimes you can't plan for talent, and that time, it was all Saquon."

Barkley had a great game and is starting to pick up steam late in the year

It couldn't be a better time for Barkley to start having momentum in the season, as he picked up over 100 yards on Washington, the second time he has done that in the last three games. He finished the contest with 21 carries for 132 yards and one touchdown, averaging 6.3 yards per carry in the win.

That performance helped Barkley surpass 1,000 yards rushing for the second straight season with the Eagles. It's the fifth overall time in his eight-year NFL career, and he has seven rushing scores in the season.

The season in general has been incredibly frustrating for Barkley, as he only gotten three 100-yard games on the season, but he's getting hot at the right time. Philly is going to need him to continue getting 20 to 22 carries a game.

What is most important for the Eagles and Barkley is that he continues to get four to five yards per carry and doesn't have to worry about the big plays. While the 40 and 50-yard runs are nice to have, as long as he can get good yards on first down, this offense can function better.

Barkley is looking better and better every week and will be a key factor in the postseason for the Birds.
