From the moment the clock struck zero in the 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers game, every Philadelphia Eagles player, coach, staff member, and fan knew there was going to be one burning question to ask going into the offseason.
Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown did not have his best playoff game, with two bad drops and his head coach, Nick Sirianni, getting in his face. It didn't make things any better when Brown declined to talk to the media after the game and bolted out of the locker room after saying goodbye to teammates.
With the 2025 season in the rearview mirror, Sirianni and Eagles general manager Howie Roseman were now forced to answer the tough questions for the final time before the offseason begins. Roseman was asked by a reporter whether the team would keep Brown or if a trade was in consideration. The GM knew exactly how to answer that.
"It's hard to find great players in the NFL, and A.J.'s a great player," Roseman said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "From my perspective, that's what we're going out and looking for — when we go out in free agency, and the draft is to find great players who love football. He's that guy. That would be my answer."
So Howie Roseman wants to keep A.J. Brown or what?
This is almost verbatim the same answer he gave about Brown back at the trade deadline, as he continues to push the message that they want him in Philly. It sounds like the Eagles are interested in having Brown back on the team for the 2026 season.
Brown had his worst season as an Eagle, as he had 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. It was the first time since coming to Philly in 2022 that he did not get selected to the Pro Bowl or All-Pro during the season.
There was much trade speculation before the deadline about whether Brown would leave, but most of the key insiders did not see it coming. The topic of Brown being traded is back, and it will run rampant throughout the offseason as everyone will predict whether he gets traded or not.

No one knows what's going to happen after the drama-filled season with Brown, which included cryptic tweets and bad-mouthing the Eagles on streams. Philly just hopes for a good resolution from the Brown situation, whether that's him returning in 2026 or a trade that will not destroy the Eagles financially.
