Everyone in the media continues to be so fixated on the Philadelphia Eagles potentially trading star wide receiver A.J. Brown.

It has become the number one Eagles topic at the NFL Combine, with most people believing this is the offseason that Philly finally takes a call on a Brown trade and gets it done. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman once again discussed the Brown trade potential to CBS Sports as he talked about whether the Eagles will take calls on Brown.

"We're in the business of keeping great players, and A.J. (Brown) is a great player. A.J. is a difference-making player for our team. He's been on the team four years. We've been to the playoffs all four of those years, won a Super Bowl, been in two Super Bowls, and he's a captain on our team. You're not looking to get rid of players like that. For us, the disappointment in the season was not progressing past the first round of the playoffs, so we're looking to build on that and go forward, and so that's adding on. At the same time, you know, there's nobody, our job as GMs, we got to listen on anyone, and that doesn't have to do with A.J. If anyone calls and says 'Hey, I want to talk to you about a player.' For me, just to say unequivocally, 'I'm not taking your call,' that doesn't make sense because I don't know what they're going to say on the other end. Now the chances I'm doing that with a great player, they're not very high."

Howie Roseman got honest about a potential A.J. Brown trade

Brown is coming off the worst season of his Eagles tenure, with 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, while not making a Pro Bowl or All-Pro, and not leading the team in receiving, the first time he has ever done that. The 2025 season was also filled with so much drama around Brown to the point that it all ended with rumors that he asked to be traded multiple times throughout the season.

Philly is now facing the pressure the national media is putting on the Eagles to get a trade done at some point in the offseason. That's easier said than done, as the Eagles will lose $20.1 million against the cap if Brown is traded before June 1, but will save $7 million against the cap if they wait after June 1.

Letting Brown go isn't as simple as some might think, given the big financial implications of a move like this, but the Eagles have to figure something out because this storyline isn't going to die anytime soon.
