Every Philadelphia Eagles fan has been so focused on the offensive coordinator search and who would get the job that they haven't paid attention to the biggest tasks at hand now that Sean Mannion is taking over.

The focus now shifts to the offseason as the Eagles have some big decisions to make as they try to bring back key players like Jaelan Phillips, Nakobe Dean, and Reed Blankenship. That might not even be a problem anymore for the Eagles.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that the NFL has informed all 32 teams that the projected 2026 salary cap is expected to be between $301.2 million and $305.7 million per team. This would be a roughly $20 million jump from the 2025 offseason and about a $100 million jump from 2022.

That means the Eagles will have some extra money to work with in the offseason. This is all good news for Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, who can do some serious damage with that kind of money.

NFL better be scared that Howie Roseman is about to go off in 2026 offseason

Roseman now knows what he has to work with this offseason, which is good news, as that extra $20 million in salary cap space can really help the Eagles. The main thing is that Philly might actually be able to retain all three of the key free agents above this offseason, or at least get two of them, with Phillips being the most important and most expensive.

There are other steps the Eagles will need to take to create salary cap space for the offseason. They could trade away wide receiver A.J. Brown, and while that would create a ton of dead cap, if they trade him in the summer, they can save about $7 million. Another thing they can do is restructure quarterback Jalen Hurts' contract to help the team save some money for the offseason.

This doesn't mean the Eagles are free to spend all their money, as they need to be careful about future contract extensions for their young star players. At least now, with the extra $20 million coming their way for the offseason, the Eagles will have more flexibility to make the signings and trades they need to.
