Every Philadelphia Eagles fan is waiting in anticipation to see what is going to happen with star wide receiver A.J. Brown and whether he will be traded.

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane had reported that he believes there are just two teams that are the favorites to land Brown in a trade: the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots. While both have their own reasons and trade assets to offer, it isn't known which one might be the favorite.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport shed some more light on the situation, offering a bit of a timeline and who is involved. Rapoport believes it's the Patriots or the Eagles in places where Brown will play in 2026, and he also mentions in his TikTok video that something will happen "very soon."

Eagles-A.J. Brown trade down to Patriots with answer coming soon

New England would make the most sense for Brown to land and the Eagles to make a deal with. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel previously coached Brown with the Tennessee Titans and was reportedly very upset at first when the Titans traded Brown to the Eagles during the NFL Draft in 2022. It also helps that the Patriots just released their top wide receiver, Stefon Diggs, so they are in the market for a top receiver.

Baltimore feels like it would be a tougher situation for the Eagles to try to get a trade done with. The Ravens may find it hard to part with a first-round pick since they are picking at 14, while the Patriots are at 31.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman isn't going to rush the situation, though, as he has reportedly told teams he wants a first-round pick and a top-100 pick for Brown. That's his asking price due to losing a three-time Pro Bowler while also taking a massive financial hit with losing $20 million with a Brown trade happening before June 1.

It might be a photo finish to get a deal done, but it all comes down to the Patriots and whether they are willing to give up two picks for Brown.
