Impending free agents possibly playing their final Eagles game in Super Bowl LIX

With free agency looming, Super Bowl LIX may be the final time Eagles fans see these players suit up in Midnight Green.

This Philadelphia Eagles team is one of the best NFL fans have seen in a long time. That's apparent given their Super Bowl run and the position they are in now. Sadly, Super Bowl LIX may be the last time we see certain players in midnight green.

With 19 total players hitting free agency in 2025, let's look at those who have played a pivotal role this season. Naturally, we have our favorites, guys we hope will stick around, but in today's NFL, you never know. There's only so much money to go around. Philly has some difficult decisions to make with the guys on this list.

LB Zack Baun

Baun is heading back to where it all began on Sunday. He played for the New Orleans Saints for four seasons. He returns to the Big Easy in search of a crown. This is Baun's first year with the Eagles. It was a massive one.

Heading into Super Bowl LIX, he has tallied 151 combined tackles, five forced fumbles, 3.5 sacks, and one interception. He earned his first Pro Bowl nod and was named First-team All-Pro.

Naturally, this is one of the guys we hope Philly finds a way to keep. We've all grown attached to him. This man needs to be re-signed immediately.

G Mehki Becton

Becton is on a one-year contract following his time with the New York Jets. Signed as a potential backup, he won a starting job and emerged as a valuable blocker and pass protector.

PFF gave him an impressive 75.2 overall grade for the season. With a running back like Saquon Barkley in the fold, Becton is important to have up front.

But, will he stay?

WR Britain Covey

Covey hasn't played since Week 13 after suffering a neck injury. This week he was a full participant in practice. If he wants to make a Super Bowl appearance, Covey will have to be added to the roster by Saturday afternoon.

Playing as a wide receiver and punt returner, his flexibility has been useful. Do the Birds keep a roster spot open for a player who is primarily a returner. That's the question that needs an answer as Covey is evaluated.

RB Kenneth Gainwell

Gainwell is in the final year of his rookie contract. He has been a good backup to Saquon Barkley. He's had some impressive runs, notching 290 yards and one touchdown, but with Will Shipley on deck and other needs, Gainwell could be seen as expendable.

DE Brandon Graham

This is a sad one. After 15 seasons with the Eagles, Graham entered the 2024-25 announcing this would be his last season but landed on the injured reserve after tearing a tricep.

After witnessing his team's successful playoff run, Graham worked his way into an opportunity to prove he was healthy enough to do the unthinkable and play. Things are looking optimistic for Sunday. If able to play, it will be the last game of his incredible career.

Let's get him another Super Bowl ring as the proper sendoff!

LS Rick Lovato

Lovato has been with the Eagles since 2017. This season, he signed a one-year contract with Philly. There's no reason why the team wouldn't re-sign him, but anything is possible.

CB Avonte Maddox

Maddox has had some good years with the Eagles, but this season was a rough one. In four games, he gave up ten catches on 19 targets for 115 yards.

He was replaced by rookie Cooper DeJean at the starting slot corner position and has filled in at safety since then. Given DeJean's success and Philly's other needs, the writing may be on the wall for Maddox.

CB Isiah Rodgers

In his lone season with Philadelphia, Rodgers has spent most of his time as a reserve. He's been impressive when he has played, and Darius Slay's future is uncertain, Philly could invest in Rodgers or place their faith in a younger player like Kelee Ringo.

CB Darius Slay

Slay has already announced that he wants to play one more NFL season, but will that season be played in Philly? Philly is getting younger at cornerback. Is there room for Slay on next season's roster?

DE Josh Sweat

Josh Sweat led the Eagles this season with eight total sacks. He recently hired a new agent, signifying he's looking for a massive payday. He's been a loyal eagle, but will the price tag be too rich? He earned $10 million with the Eagles this season, and that already seems expensive.

DT Milton Williams

Williams was a beast this season and has been a beast since his arrival. He notched 12 tackles, six sacks, and 40 pressures, surpassing his stats from last season, and he did so in reserve duty.

Williams earned a 90.4 pass rush grade from PFF, the second-best in the league among interior defensive linemen. He's one of the guys you hope will stay. Philly needs him in their rotation, but another team may pay him more. What's a general manager to do?
