Injury concerns continue for Eagles Pro Bowler, another starter survives scare
There were a ton of names listed on the Philadelphia Eagles' injury report from Wednesday to Friday. The Birds would eventually list Ben VanSumeren as the only player who was questionable for Week 10's game on Sunday.
Then, better news came. They elevated him to a 'no status' label on the eve of Philly's clash with the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, indicating he had cleared concussion protocol and was available to play.
The Birds walked into this on healthy which is very good news at this juncture of the season. Unfortunately, the buzz we got from seeing a few starters return to practice has dwindled some. Their Pro Bowl corner is injured again.
Darius Slay and Dallas Goedert leave Week 10's Eagles game with injuries (but, Goedert returns).
Darius Slay limped off the field following Philly's first defensive drive of the Eagles vs. Cowboys clash. Bad news... He's reportedly questionable to return because of an ankle injury.
Isaiah Rodgers will take Slay's place on the outside of the defensive formation at cornerback. Sadly, there is more bad news to report.
Jalen Hurts' streak of games without a turnover has ended. On the first play of the second quarter, he looked for Dallas Goedert in the end zone and instead found a former teammate at Alabama. Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs came down with the interception.
Goedert took a trip to the medical tent after that one, but Philly survived a scare, he returned on the Eagles' ensuing offensive drive.
Update: Good news to report. Darius Slay returned to the game with 9:21 remaining in the 2nd quarter.
Slay is back on the field. That's good news if he can finish this one. No one needs to ask any questions about how tough he is. He is most certainly a gamer.
