As intense as the Wild Card and Divisional Round games were, they have nothing to do with what's about to occur on Sunday. Throw them out. Refocus. The Philadelphia Eagles need two more wins. They can't look ahead towards attempting to win the second if they don't win their first.
Philly hosts the NFC Championship Game for the fifth time of Jeffrey Lurie ownership era and the seventh time in total. The opponent is familiar, the NFC East-rival Washington Commanders.
The visiting team is the last team to beat our Birds. They did so by way of a dramatic 4th-quarter comeback in Week 16. The attention has turned to the quarterbacks and the injury reports for both teams.
Here are the latest Eagles injury updates, including the most recent mentioning Cam Jurgens and Quinyon Mitchell.
Quinyon Mitchell's injury in the Divisional Round scared us. After he was ruled out of the game, we didn't know what to think. Immediately, we began asking ourselves about the severity and whether or not he'd be able to play a week later.
Good news came before the Eagles' first practice of the week. Quinyon Mitchell appears to be fine and will play in the NFC Championship Game with no limitations.
He was listed as a 'limited' participant on Wednesday, but that was an estimation. Philly held a walkthrough. He was a full participant on Thursday. That brings us to another question.
What's Cam Jurgens' status for Sunday's NFC Championship Game?
Cam Jurgens and Dallas Goedert's appearances on Wednesday's injury report caught us off guard. We had no knowledge of them being injured during the Divisional Round. Both finished the game but were nonparticipants at the Wednesday and Thursday practice sessions.
Fred Johnson was listed on Thursday's injury report. He was dealing with a 'personal matter'.
Here are the injury reports for both days.
Jurgens and Goedert returned to practice on Friday. Goedert seems to be trending towards playing as he was a full participant. cam and Britain Covey are 'questionable'.
The latter saw his practice window opened this week, meaning he could be nearing a return from the injured reserve. Fingers are crossed that the Birds will have all hands on deck for the NFC Championship Game.
Stay tuned. We'll keep you abreast of more updates as they become available.
