It's just four games but the Eagles' offense still draws massive concerns

When will they get this thing together?

Not many Philadelphia Eagles fans would have thought that the offense could not look as bad as they did in the Kansas City Chiefs game and the first half of the Los Angeles Rams game. Oh, they did look worse.

In fact, their 31-25 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday might have been their worst performance for the offense this season. They had a season-low 200 total yards of offense. That's broken down to 112 passing yards and another 88 yards on the ground.

Philly had four offensive drives that ended in negative yards. It is worth noting that their final drive was a negative 34-yard play, and that was punter Braden Mann running out of the back of the end zone for a safety to close the game.

Even with that play, it was about as bad as it could get for the Eagles on offense.

How ugly did it get for the Eagles on offense

Well, let's start with the passing game. Jalen Hurts got off to a hot start to the first half as he completed 15 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. The second half? He didn't complete a single pass. Nothing.

His top receiver was Dallas Goedert, who had four catches for 37 yards and two touchdowns. Many thought A.J. Brown was fully back after last week, but he ended up with two catches on nine targets for seven yards. Rough.

Even Saquon Barkley was not able to get much going. He had 19 carries for 43 yards and a touchdown, averaging 2.3 yards per carry. His longest run was 10 yards, but he was knocked behind the line too often.

The offensive line had its struggles as Tyler Steen was knocked out of the game for a bit and replaced by Matt Pryor, but did returned. Lane Johnson got hurt for the second straight week and did not return to the game with a shoulder injury, replaced by Fred Johnson.

Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo deserves a lot of blame as well. He ran too many draws on third and long, as well as running back and wide receiver screens. Patullo, once again, failed to get many deep balls down the field.

It's starting to become a reality that the Eagles might have one of the weakest offenses in the NFL. They are still finding ways to win games, so it isn't hurting them right now, but it will bite them in the butt late in the season.
